Lapis Lazuli is one of the oldest semi precious gemstones used by ancient civilizations; dating back 6,500 years of it being mined. The ancient Egyptians, Sumerians and Babylonians used a lot of Lapis Lazuli.
It is created in the earth via contact metamorphosis. Lapis occurs in a deep blue with calcite and pyrite inclusions. Nicknamed the Stone of Kings or the Stone of Wisdom.
Legend says this stone is symbolic for helping to speak clearly and conscisely.
